Many years ago, Maryland Youth Ballet established two scholarship funds for students, one in memory of Peter Fonseca, the son of our founder Hortensia Fonseca, who trained at MYB and went on to dance with American Ballet Theatre, and the other in memory of Jaime Fonseca, Mrs. Fonseca‘s late husband. In 2022, to honor Mrs. Fonseca‘s 100th Birthday, Maryland Youth Ballet rededicates these funds into The Fonseca Scholarship Fund. 

Donations to this fund will support MYB students with the talent and the potential for success in dance but whose families may not have the financial resources for the high-caliber training program established by Mrs. Fonseca. The Fonseca Scholarship Fund will support these dancers and the standard of excellence that continues to be Maryland Youth Ballet’s hallmark.
